The Barberry bush, native to Europe, can really take a lickin be it dry or wet, sun or shade. This is one of the easiest shrubs to plant and grow. The plants vary in color, but the burgandy is your best manly choice. The thin branches stay dry most of the year so be careful not to damage them. Also beware of the tiny thorns on the branches.
